Housekeeping Responsibilities
1. Guest Room Cleaning
Clean all occupied, vacant, and check-out rooms according to hotel standards.
Change bed linen, pillow covers, and towels.
Clean and sanitize bathrooms thoroughly.
Vacuum carpets and mop floors.
Dust all furniture, fixtures, and decorative items.
Replace guest amenities (soap, shampoo, tea/coffee, water bottles, tissue, etc.).
Ensure rooms are fresh, odor-free, and ready before check-in time.
2. Public Area Cleaning
Clean the reception area and lobby.
Maintain corridors and staircases.
Clean elevators and lift mirrors.
Keep entrances and parking areas clean.
Clean public washrooms regularly.
Ensure rooftop and common seating areas remain clean and presentable.
3. Laundry & Linen Management
Collect dirty linen from rooms.
Separate damaged linen for replacement.
Maintain linen inventory.
Fold and store clean linen properly.
Report shortages immediately.
4. Room Inspection
Check every room before releasing it for guest occupancy.
Ensure:
Lights are working.
AC is functioning.
TV and remote are available.
Wi-Fi information is displayed.
Bathroom fittings are operational.
No stains or unpleasant odors remain.
5. Maintenance Reporting
Report immediately to Maintenance or the Front Desk if any of the following are found:
AC malfunction
Water leakage
Electrical issues
Broken furniture
Door lock problems
Plumbing issues
Damaged curtains or linens
6. Inventory Control
Maintain stock of cleaning chemicals.
Monitor guest amenities.
Record issuance and consumption of supplies.
Prevent wastage and misuse.
7. Lost & Found
Report all guest belongings found in rooms.
Label, record, and securely store lost items.
Return items only after proper verification.
8. Hygiene & Safety
Follow hotel hygiene standards.
Use cleaning chemicals safely.
Wear uniforms and PPE when required.
Keep housekeeping carts organized.
Follow fire safety procedures.
9. Guest Service
Greet guests politely.
Respond promptly to guest requests.
Deliver extra towels, pillows, blankets, or amenities.
Respect guest privacy and use `Do Not Disturb` procedures.
10. Daily Reporting
Submit daily reports including:
Rooms cleaned
Vacant rooms
Occupied rooms
Out-of-order rooms
Maintenance issues
Lost & Found items
Linen status
