The WASH Manager will lead and oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs. This role is crucial for ensuring that communities have access to safe water, sanitation facilities, and proper hygiene education. The WASH Manager will work closely with local communities, stakeholders, and the broader team to ensure program success and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of WASH projects in the designated area, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
  • Water Supply: Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of water supply systems, including boreholes, pipelines, and pumps.
  • Sanitation Systems: Manage the construction and maintenance of sanitation facilities such as latrines, waste management systems, and handwashing stations.
  • Hygiene Promotion: Develop and implement hygiene education programs, promoting best practices within the community.
  • Team Management: Supervise and train a team of WASH officers and field staff to ensure effective project execution.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Ensure regular monitoring of water quality, sanitation conditions, and hygiene practices. Prepare reports for stakeholders and donors.
  • Coordination: Work closely with local authorities, NGOs, and other partners to ensure coordinated efforts in the WASH sector.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Public Health, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in WASH program management, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Strong knowledge of water supply, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
  • Experience in designing and implementing WASH infrastructure and community-based programs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in challenging and remote environments.
