Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescription medications accurately and safely according to hospital protocols and legal guidelines.
  • Provide detailed patient counseling on proper medication use, side effects, interactions, and adherence strategies.
  • Implement and manage pharmaceutical care processes to evaluate and enhance therapeutic outcomes.
  • Maintain and update health information systems to ensure accurate patient medication records and inventory control.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, to review and optimize medication therapies.
  • Participate in community health initiatives and volunteer programs organized by NGOs to extend pharmaceutical care beyond hospital settings.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, regulations, and hospital policies related to medication safety and handling.
  • Monitor medication stocks and coordinate timely procurement to prevent shortages and ensure availability.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on storage requirements and safe disposal of medications.
  • Assist in training junior staff or volunteers related to pharmaceutical practices, when applicable.
