We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Contract Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Senior Contract Engineer will be responsible for managing and administering contracts for various construction and engineering projects, ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and technical terms while maintaining positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.

This senior-level position requires an individual with a strong background in civil engineering and extensive experience in contract management, particularly within the construction, infrastructure, and engineering sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the contract management process from contract award to project completion, ensuring compliance with all contract terms and conditions.
  • Analyze and review contract documents, including scopes of work, specifications, and legal terms, to identify risks, opportunities, and requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, legal, etc.) to ensure contract obligations are clearly understood and adhered to.
  • Negotiate contract terms, amendments, and variations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Manage and oversee project change orders, claims, and dispute resolution, ensuring that all contractual adjustments are documented and processed accurately.
  • Ensure that project documentation is complete, up-to-date, and complies with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support and guidance to project managers and junior team members on contract-related matters.
  • Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with timelines, quality standards, and budget.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth contract execution and resolve issues that may arise.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on contract performance, including compliance, claims, and risk management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, contractual best practices, and emerging regulations to ensure competitive and compliant contract management.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to contracts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in contract management within the civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven track record in managing contracts for large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, construction methods, costs, schedules, and claims management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, contract management software, and other relevant tools.
  • PMP, MRICS, or similar project management or contract management certification (preferred but not required).
