Our client, a well-established organization located in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their team on a full-time, onsite basis during the night shift. This critical leadership role supports the Group’s operations across retail, telecommunications, and shared services sectors. The CFO will be responsible for shaping and executing the financial strategy, ensuring sound financial management, and driving efficiency across multiple entities within the Group.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Group’s overall financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning. Oversee all accounting functions, financial reporting, month-end and year-end closings, and the preparation of accurate financial statements at both entity and consolidated levels. Manage multi-entity accounting and Group consolidation processes, ensuring proper intercompany eliminations are in place.

Establish and maintain the intercompany accounting framework, covering invoicing, reconciliations, allocations, and settlements between Group entities. Supervise cash collections, treasury operations, bank reconciliations, cash flow management, and working capital optimization. Ensure precise revenue reconciliation and revenue assurance across retail systems, payment platforms, bank collections, and accounting records.

Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliation, including store transfers, adjustments, shortages, write-offs, and shrinkage. Manage financial controls related to payroll, employee commissions, bonuses, and incentives, ensuring accurate calculation, reconciliation, and allocation at the entity level. Monitor financial performance at store, market, entity, and Group levels, including revenue, margins, expenses, EBITDA, cash flow, and profitability.

Develop budgets, forecasts, financial models, and management dashboards to support strategic and operational decision-making. Implement strong internal controls, approval processes, segregation of duties, and financial risk management practices. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other core finance functions, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding balances and reconciliations.

Lead relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, accountants, and other financial partners to ensure statutory and tax compliance. Identify opportunities for cost savings, margin improvements, and enhanced profitability across the business. Drive the implementation and enhancement of ERP systems, financial reporting, and automation to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.

Lead, develop, and structure the finance and accounting team by establishing clear KPIs, responsibilities, and accountability. Collaborate closely with the CEO, General Manager, COO, CTO, HR, Operations, and other department heads on financial and strategic matters.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree is preferred. A minimum of 8 years in a senior leadership role is essential, along with at least 10 years of experience in financial strategy development. Extensive experience in multi-entity accounting and establishing intercompany accounting frameworks is required, with 9 years preferred. Candidates must have proven ability and willingness to work onsite during night shifts.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Experience in retail operations, telecommunications, and shared services industries will be considered an advantage. Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated track record of building and managing high-performing finance teams are highly desirable. Expertise in ERP implementation and financial process automation is preferred. The ability to provide clear financial KPIs and actionable business insights to support decision-making is important.
