General Responsibilities:

  • Support the Country Coordinator in achieving program/project objectives.
  • Lead and managed the CGPH-Sindh office while working closely with CGPH Islamabad Office.
  • Ensure that all resources of the organization are utilized effectively and efficiently to organizational objectives and deliver quality outputs.
  • Establish and maintain a comfortable, professional, and apolitical atmosphere at the workplace, consistent with the administrative policies, requirements, and guidelines of the organization.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of family planning and reproductive health (or related areas of global health) within the context of health systems in Pakistan.
  • Coordination with health and population welfare departments and other relevant government departments at the National, provincial, and district levels to monitor and manage different progress of projects
  • Capacity development of the staff (both project staff as well as government counterparts)
  • Provide technical insight in the development, planning, implementation, and monitoring components of the program/activity
  • Support the Data Management Unit in the analysis and triangulation of data for the development of a robust data-driven system that forms the foundation of informed decision-making
  • Support in the development of technical briefs, summaries, reports, and any other documents required with reference to project activities.
  • Ensure all activities or research which may be undertakings should be of high quality both at planning and implementation phase with active monitoring.

Core Knowledge and skills

  • Strong knowledge of family planning and reproductive health (or related areas of global health) within the context of health systems in Pakistan
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills pertaining to use of data and research insights to drive evidence-based decision-making
  • Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate with a broad and diverse audience
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and teams including the government, public health specialists, researchers, program implementers and other country-based FP stakeholders
  • Ability to travel throughout Sindh, Pakistan

Qualifications

  • A Medical doctor with a master’s degree in Epidemiology or Public Health from a reputable Institution. Candidates with PhD in a relevant discipline (Health Systems, Epidemiology, Public Health, Public Policy etc.) will be preferred.
  • At least 8-10 years of working experience at the national or sub-national level in Family planning or Reproductive Health and/or other health programs ideally with direct working experience relating to family planning program research, development, and implementation of programs in Pakistan.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills with a command over statistical analysis. Should be familiar with statistical packages i.e. SPSS, STATA, etc. and have the capability of conducting independent analysis of large data sets.
  • Familiarity working in low-resource settings, with experience of working with institutions (international, governmental, and non-governmental) relevant to global health and development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
