Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Logistics Officer, the Driver in general will be responsible for driving the CESVI official car as per the assigned tasks and instructions given by CESVI staff.

In strict coordination and compliance with CESVI’s and the Donor’s ethical and security rules, mandate, and mission, the driver will perform the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle to ensure the road worthiness of the vehicles. This includes daily checks of tires, brakes, engine oil, fan belts, etc.
  2. Arrange for minor repairs and ensure that the vehicles are kept clean and mechanically fit.
  3. Keep records of spare parts for the vehicle and conduct a monthly inventory of the spare parts.
  4. Ensure that the vehicles undertake regular service intervals.
  5. Make sure that the vehicle always has a full tank before departure for field trips.
  6. Find the most direct routing over the best available roads to the destination.
  7. Ensure that the office car is used only for official/authorized business, as advised by the Supervisor.
  8. Make sure that the daily log sheet of the car is prepared and a monthly report is prepared summarizing statistics linked to mileage, fuel consumption, etc. for the vehicle.
  9. Take proper measurements to reduce potential security threats to staff or property within the immediate vicinity of the vehicle and along transport routes.
  10. Collect and deliver mail/documents as assigned.
  11. Ensure that the steps required by the local rules and regulations (about driving) are taken in case of involvement in an accident.
  12. Any other task assigned by the management and supervisor

Driving License:  A valid driving license is mandatory 

Skills & Knowledge: 

  1. Good driving skills
  2. Understanding of car components, systems (engine, transmission, brakes), and mechanical troubleshooting.
  3. Familiarity with local and national traffic laws, road safety rules, and penalties for violations.
  4. Awareness of local landmarks, road conditions, traffic patterns, and any specific regional regulations or challenges
  5. Familiar with the local routes in Dadu, Jamshoro, and surrounding districts.
