Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Planning and Coordination:

    • Develop, implement, and manage production schedules to meet delivery deadlines and production targets for kitchen and cookware products.
    • Coordinate with procurement, design, engineering, and sales teams to ensure materials, resources, and specifications align with production needs.
    • Oversee the entire production process, from raw materials to finished goods, ensuring smooth workflow and timely production.
  2. Quality Assurance and Control:

    • Establish and maintain quality control standards specific to kitchen and cookware products, ensuring all products meet company specifications and industry standards.
    • Monitor production quality at all stages and implement corrective actions as necessary to address any defects or deviations.
    • Collaborate with quality control teams to conduct regular inspections and audits of products, equipment, and processes.
  3. Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality in the manufacturing of kitchen and cookware items.
    • Implement lean manufacturing principles and other process improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma, to streamline operations.
    • Work with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize machinery and equipment performance, reducing downtime and increasing output.
  4. Inventory and Resource Management:

    • Manage inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished products, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained without overstocking.
    • Coordinate with the supply chain and procurement teams to manage the supply of materials, including metals, plastics, non-stick coatings, and other specific materials used in kitchen and cookware manufacturing.
    • Optimize resource allocation, including labor, equipment, and materials, to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  5. Team Leadership and Development:

    • Lead, train, and mentor a team of production supervisors, operators, and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs to develop a skilled and motivated workforce.
    • Promote a safe and inclusive work environment, ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and company policies.
  6. Health, Safety, and Compliance:

    • Ensure all production activities comply with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies, especially those specific to kitchen and cookware manufacturing.
    • Implement safety training programs and enforce safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards in the production environment.
  7. Budget Management and Cost Control:

    • Develop and manage the production budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high-quality standards.
    • Monitor production expenses, including labor, materials, and overhead, and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
    • Prepare regular reports on production performance, costs, and quality metrics, presenting findings and recommendations to senior management.
  8. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with product development, marketing, and sales teams to align production activities with product launches and market demands.
    • Communicate production goals, performance metrics, and challenges to the production team and other stakeholders.
    • Work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to address equipment maintenance needs and ensure minimal production disruption.
  9. Problem Solving and Decision Making:

    • Quickly identify and resolve production-related issues, such as equipment malfunctions, supply chain disruptions, or labor shortages.
    • Make informed decisions regarding production priorities, process adjustments, and resource allocation to ensure continuous production flow.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the kitchen and cookware manufacturing industry, including knowledge of materials, coatings, Metallurgy & Materials Engineering and production techniques specific to cookware.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment used in kitchen and cookware production, such as metal stamping, coating application, and assembly.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent problem-solving skills to address and resolve production challenges effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, management, and other departments.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail, particularly in quality control and process optimization.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing, operations management, or a related field is typically required. A master’s degree in a relevant field or an MBA is a plus.
  • Experience: Several years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on kitchen and cookware products or a similar industry. Experience in production management or supervisory roles is highly preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Production Managers in the kitchen and cookware industry typically work in manufacturing plants or production facilities.
  • The role may involve exposure to loud noises, high temperatures, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • The position may require occasional evening, weekend, or overtime work to meet production deadlines or address urgent issues.
