Braeriach LTD is seeking a dedicated Assistant Technical Manager with a strong foundation in IT systems, networking, and troubleshooting to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Technical Manager by overseeing daily IT operations, ensuring reliable network performance, and swiftly resolving technical issues. This position requires hands-on experience with IT systems administration and network configuration. The Assistant Technical Manager will supervise a team of five IT professionals, providing guidance and fostering collaboration to meet organizational objectives effectively. Flexibility in working hours, including day and night shifts, and the ability to work from home when required, are essential aspects of this role. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and is comfortable using remote desktop tools and IT service management systems. A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required, with preference given to those holding certifications in the IT domain. This role demands proactive involvement in maintaining and enhancing IT infrastructure, supporting the deployment of new technologies, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The Assistant Technical Manager will contribute significantly to the continuous improvement of IT services, facilitating smooth and secure business operations at Braeriach LTD.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of five IT professionals, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance evaluation to ensure high-quality support and service delivery.
- Administer and maintain IT systems, including servers, workstations, and network devices, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Configure and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls, to maintain secure and efficient connectivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to IT systems, networking, and hardware promptly to minimize downtime.
- Utilize remote desktop tools and IT service management software to diagnose and manage support requests effectively.
- Collaborate with the Technical Manager to develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor and analyze network traffic and system performance to identify potential risks and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers when necessary to resolve complex technical problems.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to system configurations, network diagrams, and support procedures.
- Support the deployment and integration of new IT solutions and technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and assist in conducting regular audits to safeguard company data and infrastructure.
- Provide training and support to team members and end-users to improve technical skills and promote effective use of IT resources.
- Manage work schedules to accommodate flexible shifts, including day and night hours, and support remote work arrangements.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
