Medical Billing & Coding Executive

This role requires the Medical Billing & Coding Executive to independently handle patient data management and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in coding practices. The position requires working onsite in Lahore and includes shift work during the evening or night. Effective communication skills and professional telephone handling capabilities are important to liaise efficiently with insurance companies and healthcare providers. The candidate should be motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of solving problems independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment. A Bachelors degree in Pharmacy, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, Biotechnology, Medical Sciences, or related fields forms the educational foundation necessary for success in this role.
Responsibilities

Translate medical procedures and diagnoses into standard codes using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems accurately and efficiently.
Verify patient insurance information to ensure proper coverage and pre-authorization for medical services.
Maintain patient records with confidentiality and accuracy, updating medical billing information as necessary.
Review medical records and clinical documentation to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and coding standards.
Communicate professionally with healthcare providers, insurance representatives, and patients regarding billing questions and clarifications.
Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and web-based billing applications to input and manage billing data effectively.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to resolve coding discrepancies and streamline the billing process.
Monitor changes to coding guidelines and insurance requirements to maintain up-to-date practices.
Identify and resolve billing errors or denials by analyzing data and coordinating with relevant departments.
Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to medical billing and coding.
Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement and follow up on outstanding payments.
Maintain knowledge of the US healthcare system revenue cycle to support billing and coding accuracy.
Work independently to manage assigned tasks while supporting team projects and goals as required.
Adapt to evening or night shift schedules to meet departmental needs onsite in Lahore.
