In this role, you will leverage your knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), technical drawing, and simulation tools to create and validate robust mechanical designs. You will contribute to product development cycles from concept through manufacturing readiness, ensuring that mechanical components and assemblies meet quality standards and performance criteria. Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of complex products, ensuring alignment with project goals and technical specifications.
- Manage and mentor a team of three mechanical engineers, fostering collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to create clear, accurate, and comprehensive design documentation.
- Develop and optimize 3D CAD models using SolidWorks, CATIA, and other related tools, ensuring designs are viable for prototyping and production.
- Conduct prototyping and testing activities to validate mechanical designs and iterate based on test results.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate mechanical designs with electronics, software, and systems engineering aspects.
- Utilize SolidWorks Simulation and other analysis tools to perform stress, thermal, and motion simulations, ensuring design reliability.
- Incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles early in the design process to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Create and maintain detailed technical drawings and specifications that adhere to industry standards and company requirements.
- Identify and resolve design and manufacturing issues proactively through effective problem-solving and risk assessment.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure smooth product transitions from design to mass production.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and best practices within the mechanical design team.
