Position: Full time (Remote)
9pm night to 6am morning
Responsibilities
- Code claims using ICD-10 and CPT Codes from lab reports to billing
- Prepare and submit claims to various insurance companies
- Manage insurance payments into billing software and document issues as they occur
- Appeals to all carriers within a timely fashion for rejected/denied claims
- Follow up with doctors and other clinical staff for any missing information as it pertains to billing
- Research and resolve client billing problems or issues (rejections)
- Working directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, and patient to get a claim processed and paid
- The ideal Medical Lab Biller will have great communication and computer skills, a professional attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Any other duties and/or special projects as assigned by supervisors or management.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of Lab Billing experience
- At least 1 year of Covid-19 Testing
- Must have familiar insurance guidelines
- Working knowledge of MS Excel
- Knowledge of electronic billing software (Knowledge of AdvancedMD and/or CollaborateMD is a plus)
- Detail oriented, reliable, punctual and motivated to work
