ASTO Life Sciences seeks an Associate Import Manager to oversee import operations and ensure seamless compliance with all regulatory and procedural standards. This position requires a strong understanding of international trade laws and supply chain management principles to optimize import activities within the organization. The ideal candidate will have significant experience navigating complex customs compliance issues and ensuring the accurate classification of goods under the Harmonized System codes. The Associate Import Manager collaborates with various internal departments and external partners to facilitate timely importation of goods and maintain accurate records to support business needs. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to dynamic import and logistics environments. Although this position does not include managing a team, the candidate will play a critical role in driving efficient import operations, enhancing supply chain processes, and maintaining regulatory compliance for ASTO Life Sciences.
Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute the end-to-end import process ensuring compliance with customs regulations and import/export documentation requirements.
  • Manage customs compliance by ensuring accurate classification of goods using the Harmonized System (HS) codes and adherence to international trade laws.
  • Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners to optimize import activities and resolve operational issues.
  • Monitor and manage inventory control related to imported goods to ensure accuracy and efficiency in stock levels.
  • Implement supply chain management best practices to maintain smooth import flow and minimize delays or penalties related to customs processes.
  • Prepare and review all necessary import documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
  • Stay updated with changes in customs regulations and international trade policies to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Analyze and report on import activities to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Ensure timely communication with internal departments such as procurement, warehouse, and finance relating to import schedules and documentation.
  • Support audits and compliance reviews by maintaining organized records and documentation of import transactions.
