The Assistant Manager – Accounts & Finance will support the Finance Manager by overseeing the organization’s accounts receivable functions. This role involves managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payment collections, maintaining accurate financial records, and leading a team of accounts receivable professionals. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and leadership skills, along with a solid understanding of accounting principles and credit management processes. This position is key to maintaining the company’s financial health through efficient receivables management and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, payment collection, and account reconciliation.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and proactively follow up with customers on overdue payments.
- Prepare aging reports and identify risks or discrepancies for management review.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing or payment issues efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and compliant records of all accounts receivable transactions in line with company policies and accounting standards.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to receivables.
- Supervise and mentor accounts receivable team members by providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and accelerate cash flow.
- Prepare regular reports and summaries on accounts receivable performance, trends, and cash flow for management.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 6 to 8 years of experience in accounts receivable or finance, including 3 to 4 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, billing systems, and credit management.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal teams and customers.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Master’s degree in Finance, ACCA, or CA Finalist status is preferred.
- CPA or CMA certifications are highly desirable.
- This is a full-time, in-person position based in Karachi.
- The role reports directly to the Finance Manager.
- Competitive salary range from Rs80,000 to Rs120,000 per month.
