We are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage the institutes purchasing and supply chain activities. The ideal candidate will ensure cost-effective procurement, maintain strong vendor relationships, and support timely availability of goods and services required by various departments.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement process including purchase requisitions and purchase orders
- Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotations
- Compare prices, quality, and delivery timelines for best value procurement
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with vendors
- Maintain and update approved supplier/vendor database
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of required materials
- Coordinate with departments to understand procurement needs
- Maintain accurate procurement records, invoices, and documentation
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any supply-related issues
- Support budgeting and cost-control initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing role
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills
- Good analytical and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in MS Excel and basic ERP/procurement systems
- High level of integrity, responsibility, and attention to detail
