American Lyceum International School is looking for a dedicated and certified Montessori Advanced Homeroom Teacher to lead their prepared learning environment and inspire students to develop a lifelong love of learning. The successful candidate will use authentic Montessori principles to guide children through their critical developmental stages. They will prepare an orderly classroom, design and present individualized lessons tailored to each child's unique learning pace, and carefully observe and document student progress. Maintaining a respectful, peaceful community that encourages independent thinking is essential to this role. This position requires partnering closely with families by facilitating open and collaborative communication through conferences and regular updates. The teacher will collaborate effectively with assistant teachers to support every child's holistic growth. The candidate must have at least two years of relevant experience and demonstrate proficiency in Montessori methodology and early childhood education practices. While this position does not involve managing a team, strong coordination skills with assistants and communication with parents are key components of success in this role.
Responsibilities

  • Implement authentic Montessori principles to design and deliver individualized lessons that align with each child's developmental needs and learning pace.
  • Prepare and maintain an orderly, well-organized classroom environment that fosters independence, respect, and curiosity.
  • Conduct ongoing child development assessments through careful observation and use of educational assessment tools.
  • Develop and maintain Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) that target each student's strengths and areas for growth.
  • Utilize data-driven instruction by analyzing assessment outcomes using Item Response Theory (IRT), Classical Test Theory (CTT), and psychometric analysis to inform teaching strategies.
  • Leverage learning management systems (LMS) and assessment data analysis software to accurately track student progress and share results.
  • Maintain meticulous records of student observations and assessments to document growth and guide instructional planning.
  • Foster a peaceful and nurturing classroom community that encourages self-discipline, independent thinking, and social development.
  • Partner collaboratively with families by providing regular updates, holding parent-teacher conferences, and addressing concerns proactively.
  • Collaborate effectively with assistant teachers to support the holistic development of each child and ensure consistency in instruction and care.
  • Plan and execute curriculum activities that integrate essential components of early childhood education and Montessori methodology.
  • Stay current with best practices in early childhood education, Montessori methods, and relevant educational research.
  • Adhere strictly to all school policies, safety procedures, and ethical standards to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
