Al Shifa Trust Eye Hospital seeks a dedicated Vaccinator (Staff Nurse) to safely administer vaccines and support immunization efforts within the community. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of nursing experience, demonstrating strong expertise in vaccination administration, patient assessment, and cold chain management. This role requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure vaccines are handled and stored correctly to maintain their efficacy. The Vaccinator will also provide patient education and counseling, helping individuals understand post-vaccination care and monitoring for any adverse reactions. The position does not include team management responsibilities, allowing focus on delivering high-quality patient care and supporting hospital immunization programs. In this role, the Vaccinator collaborates closely with healthcare professionals to uphold infection control practices and maintain accurate immunization records in electronic health systems. A valid registration with the Pakistan Nursing Council and a strong foundation in pediatric care and community health initiatives will enhance success in this position. The successful candidate communicates effectively with patients, providing comfort and clarity regarding vaccination procedures while adhering strictly to regulatory compliance and safety protocols established by global health authorities.
Responsibilities

  • Administer vaccines intramuscularly, subcutaneously, or orally following clinical guidelines and hospital protocols.
  • Screen patients to evaluate medical history and current health to identify any contraindications for vaccination.
  • Maintain the cold chain of vaccines by monitoring temperatures and ensuring proper storage procedures to preserve vaccine effectiveness.
  • Document all immunization activities accurately in electronic health records and hospital management systems.
  • Provide comprehensive patient education and counseling on vaccine benefits, potential side effects, and post-vaccination care instructions.
  • Monitor patients for any adverse events following immunization and initiate appropriate clinical responses when necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control measures, including aseptic techniques, sanitation standards, and management of medical waste.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to vaccine administration, storage, and reporting as per FDA and WHO guidelines.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams during immunization drives and community health initiatives to support public health goals.
  • Participate in training and development activities to stay updated on vaccination protocols and emerging healthcare practices.
