Hospital Driver (HTV/LTV)

Al Shifa Trust Eye Hospital seeks a reliable and experienced Hospital Driver specializing in both Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) and Light Transport Vehicle (LTV) operation. The ideal candidate has a minimum of six years of driving experience, holds valid HTV and LTV licenses, and demonstrates excellent knowledge of safe driving practices alongside traffic law compliance. This role involves transporting patients, hospital staff, and necessary equipment reliably and safely while adhering strictly to hospital protocols and traffic regulations. As a key member of the transport department, the candidate will manage a team of five personnel, coordinating routes and schedules to optimize operational efficiency. The Hospital Driver is also responsible for maintaining vehicles in optimal condition through regular inspections and basic maintenance, ensuring patient comfort and safety during transit. The role demands strong time management skills to meet punctual transport requirements amid dynamic hospital needs. The candidate must be adept at routing protocols and emergency response, quickly adapting to unforeseen situations to safeguard passengers and comply with road safety management standards.
Responsibilities

Operate HTV and LTV vehicles safely to transport patients, staff, and medical supplies to and from hospital facilities following all traffic laws and hospital procedures.
Manage and coordinate a team of five drivers or assistants, ensuring effective task delegation and adherence to transport schedules.
Adhere strictly to vehicle maintenance schedules by performing regular vehicle inspections, reporting faults, and ensuring prompt repairs to maintain vehicle safety standards.
Implement and follow routing protocols for efficient navigation while minimizing travel time and fuel consumption.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local routes, traffic conditions, and road safety practices to avoid delays and hazards.
Demonstrate defensive driving techniques at all times to reduce risk on the roads and respond proactively to changing traffic scenarios.
Comply rigorously with patient transport procedures to ensure comfort, dignity, and safety during transit.
Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including medical urgencies or vehicle breakdowns, by following established emergency response protocols.
Prioritize multiple tasks efficiently while managing time effectively to meet hospital transport demands without compromising safety.
Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, vehicle condition, and incidents, ensuring records comply with hospital policies.
Promote a culture of safety within the driver team by conducting regular safety briefings and training sessions where applicable.
