Director Cloud Platform

Agay Barho is seeking a highly skilled Director Cloud Platform to lead the design, deployment, and management of public and private cloud platforms. This role requires deep expertise in cloud architecture, virtualization, container orchestration, and cloud security to ensure robust, scalable, and secure cloud environments. The Director will focus on virtualizing compute infrastructure and managing Kubernetes platforms while collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders to align cloud solutions with business and technical needs. The position demands extensive experience in AWS and Azure cloud platform management, VMware, ESXi, Docker, and Kubernetes. Although this role does not involve managing a dedicated team, the candidate will provide leadership and act as a subject matter expert, influencing best practices and guiding engineers. The Director is responsible for ensuring uptime, security, compliance, and performance of cloud and virtualized infrastructures while participating in on-call support duties. Responsibilities

• Design and define cloud solutions architecture for new and existing cloud system services aligned with business requirements.
• Develop and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, and technical presentations tailored to various stakeholders.
• Provide expert technical implementation support in cloud environments, advising on cross-product integration feasibility.
• Deploy and orchestrate container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes to support application delivery lifecycles.
• Manage AWS and Azure public cloud platforms with hands-on experience in both Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings.
• Lead and advise the Cloud Platform team by establishing best practices and acting as a subject matter expert for cloud technologies.
• Oversee network security protocols related to cloud platforms and accounts to ensure a secure cloud environment.
• Coach and mentor engineers to enhance skills and knowledge, establishing quality benchmarks within the team.
• Operate and maintain cloud-hosted Kubernetes container platforms to support application deployment and lifecycle management.
• Provision test automation services to support software quality assurance processes.
• Manage all cloud accounts, ensuring proper billing, artifact tagging, and central security management aligned with industry standards.
• Ensure all build and deploy processes are secure, predictable, repeatable, audit-ready, and comply with governance standards.
• Administer, monitor, operate, and upgrade virtualized compute infrastructure including VMware ESXi environments.
• Maintain production uptime and participate actively in a 24/7 on-call support rotation to resolve critical cloud and infrastructure issues.
• Manage the deployment, patching, and continuous monitoring of ESXi hosts and associated hardware resources.
• Supervise converged infrastructure and workload migrations, performing vSphere upgrades and deployments both on-premises and in the cloud.
• Provide advanced level 2 and 3 support for cloud and virtualization platforms.
• Follow strict change and configuration management processes to ensure system integrity and compliance.
• Administer and troubleshoot operating systems and hypervisors to maintain optimal system performance.
• Coordinate with internal departments including Operations, DFS, SOC/NOC, Information Security, and Internal Audit to ensure adherence to IT governance and policies.
• Adhere to organizational behavioral principles emphasizing respect, promise-keeping, exploration, and collaborative creation.
• Manage compliance risks inherent in day-to-day activities and ensure ongoing development of systems, policies, and procedures to control such risks.
