This position seeks an experienced professional with a solid background in investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, valuation, or restructuring to lead privatization transactions from start to finish. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timely execution of all activities. The successful candidate will engage in detailed data analysis, due diligence, strategic planning, and coordination with multiple stakeholders to facilitate seamless transaction processes. This is a high-impact role requiring strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and effective collaboration across various disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire lifecycle of privatization transactions following approval by the competent authority, ensuring all tasks are completed within set timelines and in accordance with established guidelines.
- Gather, analyze, and evaluate comprehensive data related to assigned entities or assets, including ownership structures, financial health, liabilities, legal status, and operational factors.
- Conduct preliminary due diligence and prepare detailed reports that conform to approved templates and procedural standards.
- Develop and recommend transaction execution strategies, deciding whether to proceed internally or engage external Financial Advisors and consultants.
- Assess and propose optimal transaction structures, while reviewing and advising on those suggested by appointed Financial Advisors.
- Design and implement strategic transaction plans that define stages, activities, and timelines to ensure smooth progress and successful completion.
- Prepare and coordinate essential transaction documents such as Information Memorandums, bidding documents, Sale and Purchase Agreements (SPAs), Joint Venture Agreements (JVAs), and other related contracts.
- Compile briefs, reports, and presentations for the Privatization Commission, Cabinet Committee on Privatization (CCoP), and other relevant bodies.
- Review deliverables submitted by Financial Advisors, monitor milestone achievements, and recommend validation and payments accordingly.
- Collaborate with legal, financial, and technical experts to verify the accuracy and completeness of all transaction documentation.
- Undertake any additional duties assigned by the competent authority to support the privatization process.
Required Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Strategy & Policy, or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized university.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, FCMA, FCA, FCCA, CIMA, or CFA are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in investment banking, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), valuation, or restructuring.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex financial transactions and strategic planning within a professional setting.
