ACTED present in Pakistan since 1995, with an active presence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, Sindh and Punjab provinces. ACTED Pakistan has been responding to emergencies caused by conflicts and natural disasters, notably focusing on food security and livelihood opportunities, while supporting their recovery and investing the development sectors.

ACTED will be implementing this project in the severely flood-affected district of Jaffarabad (U/C Samoo & U/C Ghaffar) where barriers to education (especially for girls) have considerably exacerbated due to flooding and worsening socioeconomic conditions. Prior to entering communities, ACTED held consultation with all the stakeholders present in the target area.

ACTED will also work with community leaders to establish/strengthen School Management Committees (SMCs) which will lead on beneficiary identification. By demonstrating concrete community involvement in the project, SMCs increase community buy-in and enable the communities to identify the most vulnerable individuals/HHs. SMCs will receive training to sensitize the communities on Child protection, safeguarding, DRR and other topics.  

  • The auxiliary teachers will support the 20-government school system in properly initiating academic syllabus (play-based activities) in the classroom.
  • Will be a part of the teacher’s training program on education in emergency, multi-grade teaching, child protection and safeguarding.
  • Will assist the project team in rigorous community mobilization seminars and campaigns regarding the importance on girls’ education and child protection and safeguarding and MHPSS.
  • Will assist monthly recreational and co-curricular activities events in all the 20 government schools of Jaffarabad.

To lead the SMC Monthly Meetings with the Project Team regarding programmatic activities and the importance of educational needs.
