Assignment:

The Project Development (PD) Intern works under the direct supervision of the Senior Program Development Officers and is responsible to support the Deputy Country Director as well as all PD Officers as requested in all Project Development matters for the Islamabad office and areas according to Acted guidelines.

The Project Development department supports the successful operations in Acted Pakistan through three core roles:

  • Coordination – developing and maintaining timely, accurate and effective mechanisms internal and external liaison, reporting and follow up including advocacy;
  • Communication – leading the creation, collation and publishing of articles, posters, leaflets and other materials for external communications in line with donor and HQ requirements;
  • Project development and management – organizing proposal development and submission, internal project coordination and donor reporting as per contractual requirements.

Responsibilities:

The Project Development Intern role is an entry level position within the department with a view to developing a suitable candidate to progress into the Project Development Assistant role. The candidate would be expected to progressively take support functions including, but not limited, to:

Coordination:

  • Scheduling and recording minutes for the weekly coordination meetings at the Islamabad base;
  • Scheduling and recording minutes for the quarterly coordination meetings at the Islamabad base;
  • Prepare cluster and other external reporting.
  • Join ad hoc meetings, prepare and timely share meeting minutes.

Communication:

  • Develop project fact sheets, sector leaflets, etc.
  • Develop weekly flash news for the Acted global website;
  • Develop monthly articles for the Acted global newsletter;
  • Prepare leaflets and posters for each project in Pakistan;
  • Edit as well as directly prepare case stories and photographs of beneficiaries for external sharing;
  • Ensure visibility of projects within all Acted Pakistan offices.

Project development and management:

  • Prepare donor reporting;
  • Conduct research for new projects;
  • Support preparation of proposals;
  • Organize PD filing and records in soft and hard copy
  • Support tracking and search for Call for Proposals
  • Prepare a donor mapping

Experience:

  • Excellent computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, e-mail).
  • Advance level proficiency in verbal and written communication in English
