The MEAL Intern works under direct supervision of the MEAL Country Manager and/or the MEAL Senior Officer. The MEAL support independently monitors and the successful operation of Acted Pakistan’s program. A functioning link will exist with the Program Development Department, MIS, Program Department.

The MEAL Intern is an entry level position within the department, with a view to developing a suitable candidate to progress further The candidate is expected to progressively take up functions.

 Responsibilities:

The MEAL Intern’s responsibilities include:

 General

  • The MEAL Intern will support both the MEAL Country Manager and the MEAL Senior Officer in the oversight of the MEAL throughout field bases.
  • Any other tasks required by his/her direct management (MEAL Country Manager and MEAL Senior Officer)

 Maintaining Adequate MEAL Filing Procedures

  • The MEAL Intern will maintain a proper filing system of MEAL reports and data collected both in hard copy and electronic formats.
  • He/she will cross-reference both hard copies of files and documents in the server to ensure that all MEAL documents and data are easily accessible for MEAL and other relevant units.
  • He/she will liaise with field teams to ensure that all reports/data/tools are forwarded to MEAL Islamabad.
  • He/she will be responsible for ensuring the standardization of file names both electronically and in hard copy formats.

 Review of Data and Reporting

  • The MEAL Intern will be occasionally tasked with the review of entered data in both Excel and Access databases to ensure that entered data is consistent with Acted’s information management standards.
  • He/she will be responsible for follow-up with field teams on any quality control issues related to entered data.
  • He/she may be tasked for the initial review of MEAL Evaluation Reports, Memos and other Narrative reports prior to forwarding to the MEAL Senior Officer for his/her review.
  • He/she may be responsible for liaising with field teams to ensure that all MEAL Islamabad queries are answered relating to reports.
  • He/she will be responsible for supporting implementing units and assist in guiding future programming through the identification of lessons learned and best practices when requested by line management.
  • He/she will be engaged in preparing lessons learnt documentation.

 Coordination:

  • The MEAL Intern will attend MEAL coordination meetings with both internal and external partners and draft MEAL minutes for respective meetings.
  • He/she will liaise with field teams to ensure that any significant issues are made known to line managers in preparation for internal coordination meetings.
  • He/she will be responsible for liaison with field teams to ensure that the MEAL work plan remains consistent with the realities of programme implementation.

Sexual abuse means the actual or threatened physical intrusion of a sexual nature, whether by force or under unequal or coercive conditions
