Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Team Lead- Accounts & Finance to join our dynamic team. The Team Lead- Accounts & Finance will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting and bookkeeping practices and processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with an eye for looking into details and a passion for learning and growth. As the Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our bookkeeping team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services, and maintaining strong client relationships. Your leadership will be essential in fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of accounting professionals.
  • Assign tasks and projects, ensuring balanced workloads and timely completion.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and updates.

Financial Reporting:

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgets, analyze variances, and provide insights for corrective actions.

Internal Controls:

  • Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial records and reports prepared by the team.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement within the accounting function.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall performance.

Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Prepare and file tax returns and other regulatory reports accurately and on time.

Client and Stakeholder Relations:

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Address and resolve any accounting-related inquiries or issues promptly.

Training and Development:

  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team.

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage special accounting projects, such as system implementations, mergers and acquisitions, or financial restructuring.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

Financial Analysis and Strategy:

  • Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial performance and trends.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track team performance.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, operations, and sales, to support overall business objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding of financial goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
