The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. This role supports the organization’s financial planning and reporting by handling daily accounting tasks, preparing financial statements, and assisting with budgeting and audits. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams to promote sound financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and classified correctly.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable promptly and within established deadlines.
- Manage banking transactions, including deposits, fund transfers, cheque processing, bank correspondence, and online banking activities.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and other periodic financial documentation as required.
- Calculate taxes, prepare and file tax returns, and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and statutory requirements.
- Assist management in developing annual budgets, financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and variance analyses.
- Monitor operating expenses and suggest cost-control measures to improve financial efficiency.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and supporting documentation.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial and statutory audits, providing necessary information and documentation in a timely manner.
- Monitor cash flow to maintain adequate liquidity for daily operations.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare schedules and reports to assist management in strategic and operational decision-making.
- Provide financial data and analysis to finance and cross-functional teams as needed.
- Perform additional accounting, finance, or administrative duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounting or a related financial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in maintaining the general ledger and preparing financial statements.
- Experience managing accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Ability to handle banking transactions and perform bank reconciliations.
- Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Competence in tax computation, filing, and compliance.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to coordinate audits and work collaboratively with auditors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.

- Competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs100,000 to Rs150,000.
