About the Candidate:

The Grant Writing Specialist is a key position with a primary focus on the strategy, planning, and management of all fundraising and funder relations activities. Reporting to the Executive Director and Head of Research and Program Development Specialist, this individual must be a persuasive leader with excellent grant writing, research and coordination skills; capable of operating within a diverse team, and adept at budgeting and financial management. The ideal candidate for this role is a highly motivated and experienced development professional with a strong background in leading fundraising strategies and managing program operations, as well as understanding of the regulatory and strategic aspects of key funders in Pakistan. This individual possesses a deep passion for social and economic change, with a keen understanding of the civil society landscape in Pakistan.

Role Description:

Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs of the organization.
Identify and evaluate funding opportunities offered by international development institutions and funders, aligning with organization's priorities.
Lead the development of grant proposals, concept notes, and funding applications ensuring alignment with Accountability Lab’s strategic objectives and standards.
Collaborate closely with program and finance team, and other stakeholders to gather project-specific information, data, and insights necessary for proposal development.
Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of the context, current trends, innovations, and best practices relevant to respective grant proposal.
Work with the Executive Director and Head of Research and Program Development to strategically set annual revenue goals that grow and diversify revenue streams and align with the strategic plan.
Identify and liaise with relevant experts to solicit feedback, and input on grant proposals and fundraising strategies.
Manage the complete grant application process, from initial research to submission and post-award reporting.
Monitor and track the progress of grant applications and communicate effectively with stakeholders and AL management.
Ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines.
Provide support in grant management activities, including project monitoring, reporting, and compliance with organization’s requirements.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of grant proposal and project and activity reports.
Manage communication with program team, participants and other stakeholders.
Facilitate programs team in monitoring projects progress, implement activities and ensure timely reporting.
Draft, edit and proofread communication materials and reports.

Qualification:

A Master’s degree in Social Sciences or a related field is preferred.
Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in grant proposal writing and acquisition.
Excellent contextual knowledge of program development, monitoring and evaluations and ethical guidelines of various funders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and editing and proofreading skills.
Able to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.
Familiarity with MS office tools is a must.
Self-driven with an ability to work in teams and adhere to tight timelines.
