We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Data Centre Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and managing the day-to-day operations of the data centre. This role requires proficiency in managing Oracle-based and Excel-based databases, ensuring the smooth functioning of IT systems, and providing technical support to ensure maximum uptime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain the physical and virtual infrastructure of the data centre.
  • Perform routine system checks to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Manage and resolve technical issues related to hardware and software.
  • Handle Oracle-based databases, including creating, updating, and managing data records.
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based databases, including advanced functions like macros and pivot tables.
  • Perform regular data integrity checks and backups to ensure data security and accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve system errors, performance issues, and data discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to address infrastructure and database concerns.
  • Provide user support and training for database systems as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of system configurations, changes, and incidents.
  • Generate and analyze reports from Oracle and Excel databases to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards for data management.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, storage, and network equipment.
  • Perform upgrades and patches for database systems and related software.

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Oracle-based database management, including SQL queries and performance tuning.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking basics.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
