We are hiring on behalf of our client, the Government of Pakistan - Ministry of Climate Change Authority, for the prestigious role of Chairman a position crucial to driving impactful environmental policies and climate change initiatives.

Required Qualification and Experience:

Qualification:

  • Ph.D or Master Degree in the fields related to Climate Change & Environment from HEC recognized National or International University. Candidate with highly cited research publications in national / international high-impact Journals will be given preference.

Experience and Desirable Competencies:

  • At least 15 years’ experience in the fields related to Climate Change & Environment.  Policy formulation, strategic planning, conceiving / implementing development initiatives with specific focus on climate change. Qualifications in project management, climate finance, environment law and sustainable development initiatives will be considered as an added advantage.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the climate change scenarios on national and international level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical working experience of multidisciplinary policy / strategy formulation, national planning in the field of environmental management and mainstreaming climate change mitigation and adaptation initiatives, livelihood improvement, biodiversity conservation or natural resource management in developing countries.
  • Due weightage will be given to demonstrated ability for impact oriented scientific contribution through original research publication(s) in national / international high impact Journals.
  • Skills and knowledge to build linkages between environmental, energy, climate change sustainable development goals (SDGs), macroeconomic policies, poverty reduction, and sustainable development.
  • Conceptual and practical knowledge of principles and operations of international donors / UN agencies.
  • Experience of working and collaborating with stakeholders including Governments; International Donors, INGOs, Civil Society etc.
  • Demonstrated ability of analyzing data and preparing analytical / technical reports.
  • Experience of drafting various climate change related bills / legal documents.
  • Ability of assuming leadership role and management skill.
