We’re looking for a skilled WordPress + PHP Developer to join our team and play a pivotal role in delivering innovative web solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Website Development
- Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, ensuring they are responsive, user-friendly, and adhere to accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA).
- Implement custom themes, plugins, and integrations to meet client-specific needs.
Back-End Development
- Write clean, efficient, and reusable PHP code for custom features, APIs, and integrations.
- Optimize websites for performance, scalability, and security (e.g., HTTPS, SSL).
Accessibility and Testing
- Conduct accessibility audits and ensure compliance with WCAG standards.
- Perform cross-browser, cross-device testing to ensure consistent functionality.
Interactive Features
- Build and integrate tools such as forms, query lookups, and calculators.
- Ensure seamless integration with third-party tools and APIs (e.g., social media, analytics).
Project Collaboration
- Work independently as the Canadian team will be working the Evening/Night shift hours. Mettings will be set up at overlapping times.
- Participate in planning, milestone tracking, and status reporting.
Support and Maintenance
- Provide ongoig maintenance and support for existing websites, including updates and troubleshooting.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- Proven experience with WordPress development, including custom themes, plugins, and integrations.
- Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Experience with WCAG compliance and accessibility-first web design.
- Familiarity with performance optimization tools (e.g., caching, CDNs).
Tools and Platforms
- Experience with Gutenberg editor, ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), and WooCommerce.
- Proficiency in using Git for version control.
- Familiarity with design tools like Figma or Adobe XD for translating mockups to code.
Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a remote team.
Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in WordPress and PHP development.
- Experience with React.js for front-end functionality is a strong advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to develop dynamic, interactive websites.
- Knowledge of modern front-end tools and techniques using React.js.
