- Demonstrates safe pre and post-care of Cardic& Liver Surgery patients, equipment and OR.
- Accurate and precise in documentation e.g. patient pre-op perfusion-related data, perfusion checklist, pharmacy, supply form, and log book.
- Maintain and ensure a comfortable, clean, and safe environment for patients.
- Maintain aseptic techniques in operating rooms
- Open sterile supplies and sets with aseptic techniques.
- Maintain equipment in working condition and inform senior of any fault and take action accordingly.
- Prepare the operating room with appropriate instruments, heart-lung machine, supplies, and equipment as per the procedure.
- Monitor the emotional stability of patients and report changes to the consultant.
- Prepare the cardiopulmonary bypass circuit for all cardiac surgical procedures.
- Help inserting of intra aortic balloon catheter (IABC)
- Monitor the patient after IABC insertion and teach ICU staff.
- Operate the cell saver during the procedure/surgery.
- Operate the ACT (Activated Clotting Time) machine and assessment of coagulation status during open-heart surgeries.
- Operate heat exchanger during surgery.
- Select suitable supplies for all cardiac surgical procedures.
- Maintain sufficient par level for all equipment used in Open Heart and Liver Transplant surgery.
