Technology and Mental Health: I have done in-depth research on Seasonal Affective Disorder and hope to delve further into modern mechanical devices and light sources that could improve ease-of-access as well as shorten the treatment time for patients suffering from this disorder. Due to the heavy course-load in my last year at UVA, I was unable to complete the official proposal of my research paper that I had submitted to my professor. Abnormal Psychology and Research Methods: Secondary to my interest in SAD, Depression and Anxiety Disorders based on geographical location is a future research prospect that I am intrigued in. Depression and Anxiety, although affecting approximately 80% of all college students, is not very well addressed in some regions of the world. I hope to bring light to this issue through research and publication, thus improving the resources available to students dealing with mental health disorders.
