The study provided the direction and guidance & at the same time assign priority to a few or many academic disciplines based on current and future market projections. The relevance of existing disciplines in AJ&K and selected academic programs at international level were seriously scrutinized.
Feasibility Study for Need Assessment of Universities in Punjab
This feasibility study was conducted to assess the need of new universities and/or sub campuses or upgradation of the existing universities in the province of the Punjab including the following:
• Study the historical growth at each existing university in Punjab.
• Growth projection for long term and medium term to assess the annual enrollment gap. The enrollment projection shall be for 50 years to provide a meaningful road map. The business expansion plan is assumed for 25 years to ensure timely availability of the facilities. The projection tables are for 40 years only.
• Plan new facilities to cater for the future enrollment gap.
• Estimate capital requirement for new universities based on the introduction of demand driven programs in the new facilities.
• Draw business strategy and annual financial outlay for the future addition of new Higher Education (HE) institutions.
• Propose Institutional Framework for the implementation of Business Plan
Review of Business Plans prepared by Universities/HEIs under TESP
• Reviewed the contents of 30 Draft Business Plans prepared by various Public sector Universities/HEIs as provided by the clients.
• Identified and documented the gaps / shortcomings in the light of ensuring the conformity of documents with respect to the approved template and HEC guidelines.
• Developed and implemented of capacity building plan for the Focal Persons and core teams (those who were involved in preparing business plans) of 30 HEIs in order to enhance the capacity of relevant stakeholders of HEIs and better communicate his/her feedback / review recommendations for improving Business Plans.
