My career as a Mechanical Fitter began when I start working for Pakistan Steel Mill in 1977 with this job I acquired hands on experience of working on different positions, With over 40 years of experience.
I am a result oriented professional with success in reviewing all logistics and supply chain matters regarding strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, or receiving.
My key skills comprise of metalworking machines, mechanical installation, pre-job safety briefings, task hazard analyses & Job safety analysis, storage & distribution, Inventory management, store keeping, production & planning, store requisition & material collection, Direct inbound or outbound logistics operations etc.
I am currently associated with Pakistan Steel Mill, as Assistant Manager C.R.M & Logistics, where I am responsible for complete C.R.M & Logistics operations, arrange stocking of raw materials and equipment, maintain log book & filing both manually and electronically, supply chain, office supplies, distribution or inventory management etc.
In over 40 years of experience in various department in Pakistan Steel Mill where I learn so many skills regarding production, planning, inventory control, supply chain management, crane opreations, mechanical installation, maintenance & safety, logistics e.t.c. I am able to work in a challanging enviornment of an any organziation. I am accented with the latest trends and techniques of the field, and have an inborn quantitative aptitude & determined to carve a successful and satisfying career in the industry, and effective communicator with good team management, quick learning, leadership, problem solving and analytical skills.
• Supervise orders and arrange stocking of raw materials and equipment to ensure they meet production needs and Keep logs and records of warehouse stock, executed orders etc.
• Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, or receiving.
• Organize files both manually and electronically and Monitor and facilitate repair orders.
• Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
• Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
• Allocate physical resources within organizations such as availability of materials, office supplies, and equipment. And collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems.
• Establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources.
• Direct inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, or logistics quality management.
• Review procedures, such as distribution or inventory management, to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Adjust and correct machine set-ups to reduce thicknesses and eliminate product defects.
• Controls dial indicators to monitor, adjust, and regulate speeds of machine mechanisms.
• Remove scratches and polish roll surfaces, using polishing stones and electric buffers.
• Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, store requisition and material collection.
• Assesses and organizes logistics in terms of transport requirements, receipt, handling, storage and distribution of relief items and establishes proper warehousing.
• Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards and Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs.
• Collect the necessary information and instruction from the previous shift for the smooth running of the section and Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Monitor gauges and flowmeters and inspect equipment to ensure that tank levels, temperatures, chemical amounts, and pressures are at specified levels, reporting abnormalities as necessary.
• Communicate with other workers, using signals, radios, or telephones, to start and stop flows of materials or substances and cleans, lubricates, and repairs pumps and vessels, using hand tools and equipment.
• Operates machine equipped with door jack and coke guide to remove doors from discharge end of coke ovens and guide discharged coke from oven to quenching car: Drives machine along rails to designated oven.
• Moves levers to hook machine arm onto door and remove it from oven, and to position frame which guides discharged coke from oven into quenching cars.
• Operates bridge & tower crane to lift and move materials from ground storage areas and climbs ladder inside vertically mounted tower to gain access to control pad suspended under crane boom.
• Load and unload bundles from trucks, and move containers to storage bins, using moving equipment. And controls crane movement in respond to hand signals or radio command by supervisor or signaler.
• Pushes or pulls levers on control console to rotate counter-balanced horizontally mounted boom to extend or retract trolley along boom, and to raise and lower hook to which loads are attached.
• Complete understanding of crane operation characteristics, controls, emergency skills, response to fire, power line contact, tipping, malfunction characteristics.
• Perform daily maintenance and inspection of equipment and maintain record logs & clean, lubricate, and maintain mechanisms such as cables, pulleys, and grappling devices, making repairs as necessary.
• Perform an active part and participating in safety meetings, pre-job safety briefings, task hazard analyses and Job Safety Analysis.
• Working in Mechanical Installation Department with good understanding of detailed drawings or specifications to find out job, material and equipment requirements.
• Experience of working to assemble and fit parts made up of metal and other materials via brazing and welding wherever required.
• Able to set up and adjust metalworking machines and equipment and Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
• Knowledge to operate machines to produce parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, planning, shaping, slotting, grinding or drilling metal stock or components.
• Dismantle faulty tools and assemblies and repair or replace defective parts.
