Now I am a district surveillance coordinator. In this I monitor all the Town surveillance coordinator and there performance and look after all the vaccine preventable diseases such as AFP, Measles, Diphtheria,NNT , Pertussis.Investigate these cases and send there sample to NIH laboratory Islamabad.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Coordinate with the town teams to established a highly sensitive VPD surveillance system in district including acute flaccid paralysis (AFP), primary immunodeficiency (PID) surveillance, Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR), and other disease surveillance systems supported by the polio program
2. Coordinate and support detailed investigations at local levels for all triggered events of surveillance and polio virus detections, including timely sharing of details of the investigations with the Surveillance Coordinator
3. Support implementation of the surveillance guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and surveillance strengthening plan, including timely response to request for updating documents and databases
4. Supervise surveillance activities at the field level (including but not limited to environmental sample collection, VPD validation, active and zero site visits) and district on the job training of field staff for capacity building
5. Support and ensure specimen collection and shipment are monitored and well managed by the surveillance team as well as the courier services and quality specimens arrive at the polio laboratory
6. Support establishment and further expansion of the surveillance network, environmental collection sites, including periodic assessments of current active, zero and environmental sites for prioritization, and other supplemental surveillance initiatives
7. Conduct data analysis, internal reviews, risk assessments to identify gaps in surveillance and develop action plans to mitigate the risks
8. Contribute to developing guidelines, SOPs, tools, reports, etc. for surveillance areas of work
Deliverables
1- All key surveillance standards and indicators, as per National Surveillance Guidelines, are achieved in the district or assigned area.
2- All key indicators of Surveillance as per national guidelines are met in the assigned district.
3- All data requested by National Surveillance Coordinator is received in a timely manner.
4- Updating of documents/spreadsheets indicating progress of action plans developed to implement recommendations from internal and external surveillance reviews.
