A Graduate and an Accounting & Finance Professional (CA-Finalist) with more than 4 years of diversified experience with one of the Big 4 Chartered Accountancy firm (KPMG) in critical and demanding positions. Currently working in the Finance department of a reputable organization in development sector.
Provide support for bookkeeping, reconciliations, reporting and taxation. Ensure compliance with the TDEA policies and facilitate all work pertaining to Financial and Management level audits.
Other responsibilities include Preparation of periodic financial reports, budget variance reports, reconciliations, exceptional reporting, payroll, and expenditure forecasts along with record keeping, Treasury Management and taxation. It also includes ensuring compliance with USAID regulations, maintenance of effective internal controls in line with the Financial Manual; make payments against procurement, maintaining controls over receivables/ debtors. Keeping track of grants forecasts and payments, coordinate with Grants unit to ensure timely disbursements and maintain proper audit-able documentation.
Supported process of Awarding the Grant, subsequent payments, financial reporting and close out in accordance with the project flow delineated in the Grants Manual and in agreement with UNDP and sub-grantees.
Other Responsibilities included the following:
• To ensure compliance of partnership agreements and donor policies by all IPs of TDEA.
• Preparation of budget and agreements, absorption of budget amendments, if any.
• To ensure disbursements to partners according to the payment schedules agreed.
• Review of partner’s financial reports to ensure availability of requisite approvals for payment. Provision of technical assistance to implementing Parties in areas of finance, HR & Procurement and close out in accordance with applicable Policies & Procedures.
Managed various sized teams while carrying out Audit & Assurance and Financial Risk Advisory assignments. My major roles and responsibilities included managing and leading single and multiple teams, reviewing their work and evaluating their performance, reporting to senior management directly, advising and recommending clients on best practices in finance and operations, and communicating with clients to accomplish tasks effectively and efficiently.
