Dr. Mithani is a senior education, child right’s, protection and program development and evaluation professional; with over two-decades of experience working with international NGOs and academia.
His current work involves:
- Quality Assurance Consultant on for the development of policies on Child Protection, Child Safeguarding and Data Protection and Confidentiality for ICT, provinces, and territories in Pakistan for Oxford Policy Management.
- Working with ten public sector universities in Pakistan focusing on upskilling workforce through developing university programs and faculty development in early childhood development and early childhood care and education while servings as the advisor for Pakistan Alliance for Early Childhood.
- Leading mid-term evaluation of project titled: “preventing child labour in Pakistani textile industry by improving the working conditions and quality of education, especially for children, awareness and advocacy work” for a German NGO terre de homme.
- And, leading evaluation of animated stories for children in primary grades on diversity, culture, peace, empathy, and conflict prevention for the United States Institute for Peace.
In 2020 he led a mid-term evaluation of project on “Promoting Child Rights and Participation in Pakistan (PCRPP) for rule of law - Juvenile Justice Reform, project for Group Development Pakistan funded by British High Commission and developed a social impact program strategy for a corporate foundation. In 2019 he coordinated the review of laws on children enacted by federal and provincial governments in Pakistan against UN-CRC for National Commission on Human Rights and UNICEF.
In 2017-18, he led USAID funded Quality Reading Program: Time to Read project in Kyrgyz Republic in 900 schools, and in 2017 led the team to undertake Midline Early Grades Reading Assessment with Management Systems International in Pakistan and undertook education process and outcome evaluation for UKAID’s education sector support to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan with ECORYS, UK.
At Save the Children, he served as Senior Director Education and Child Development, developing, and improving program quality on learning and safe environment for children in crises across Pakistan. He has served as Assistant Professor at Aga Khan University – Institute for Education Development; teaching graduate-level courses in leadership and management, monitoring and evaluation, critical pedagogy.
Has worked closely with governments and has been sought funding and maintained active engagement with corporate and bi-lateral donors including: DFAT, USAID, EU, Dutch, and other European donors.
