Responsibilities Under the guidance and supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Community Mobilizer will be responsible for the following deliverables
Responsible to ensure the effective implementation of food/supplies distribution projects and community outreach activities in the field.
Implement a micro plan of community outreach activities in consultation with the team leader.
Identification and selection of beneficiary communities, households, and individuals as per set criteria.
Based on her/his knowledge of the area, collect information through questionnaires, transect walks, physical observation, and any other information collection techniques.
Organize and implement beneficiary selection campaigns following the agreed guidelines, selection criteria, and templates designed for the purpose.
Maintain contact with the beneficiaries and communities during all the stages of the project implementation, convey their instructions, suggestions, and other messages from the project management, collect comments, ideas, complaints, and other messages and report them to the project Coordinator/Supervisor.
Establishment of community committees.
Support to implementation of the complaint response mechanism in the field.
Area mapping to identify the distribution sites in consultation with the community members and team leaders.
Support in organizing smooth distribution
Sharing of information with the community promptly
Work as a team and ensure close coordination with the supervisors
Read and ensure a full understanding of Cesvi Gender, Child Protection, and other safeguarding policies.
Address and solve problems that might arise between the community and CESVI, or among community members, during and because of the implementation of the project activities, reporting or handing over, if the case to the project management the most sensitive and serious ones
Incorporate participatory principles into the community level to ensure emergency response
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that project related interventions are implemented by engaging the Community Institutions (COs/VOs/LSOs) fostered under SUCCESS and UCBPRP
With Work with Community Institutions fostered under SUCCESS and UCBPRP for selection of Community Resource Persons (CRPs) to work on community level WASH interventions and selection of VO level agriculture entrepreneurs to be engaged in community level Agriculture and Food Security Interventions
Facilitate VOs and LSOs for development of their plans for achieving Open Defecation Free status, improved access to safe water and availability of nutritious food
Facilitate training events of CRPs, Village level sanitary entrepreneurs, VOs and LSOs for their role in achieving the open defecation free status of villages, promotion of water handling practices and use of nutritious food
Work with community institutions for improving access of communities to safe drinking water
Provide technical assistance to community institutions for farmer field schools for promotion of kitchen gardening and family farming
Work with LSOs and livestock department for identification, training of community livestock extension workers and delivery of livestock extension serviced in rural areas
By engaging community institution identify and train community level poultry entrepreneurs for food diversification
Work closely with LSOs for community level fish ponds and availability of fish at community level
Provide technical support to LSOs for celebration of international days related to food, water and sanitation at community level
Keep close coordination with officials of Local Government, PHED, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries working at Tehsil and Union Council level and engage them in program activities.
Extend community support through LSOs to Government Departments engaged with Accelerated Action Plan (AAP) for reduction of malnutrition and stunting for
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and organize OTP/CMAM activities at designated distribution sites in liaison with health facility Incharge
Work closely with DoH Health staffs to ensure all aspects of the program understood and appropriate referrals take place to and from the CMAM outreach and well integrated into the Primary Health Care and CMAM approach
Work closely with the health facility staff (MO/FMO/LHV), IYCF promoter and LHWs to ensure all children are screen correctly at health facility/OTP center and within targeted area
Ensure all criteria are respected and understood by the team and community groups, including ; admission, discharge and transfer to and from the community or other source
Ensure correct clinical diagnosis at the time anthropometric assessment so that the SAM patient receives appropriate treatment and enrollment based OTP admission criteria
Timely identification of complications, non-responder, and referrals to the NSC and strong follow up until discharge for re-admission in OTP
Ensure adequate availability of all medical and Therapeutic food supplies and ensure stock is pre-positioned as planned by discussing with Nutrition Officer and logistics
Follow-up and provide feedback to the health facility Incharge and nutrition supervisor /officer on the amount and quality of the treatment supplies if it does not comply with specified quality standards
Regular and strong coordination with PHC/CMAMI, NSC and Outreach staff on referral and integrated case management package
Report on progress and any problems in a timely manner to health facility Incharge and nutrition supervisor/officer
Through liaison with the community groups, provide effective follow up of all cases: particularly tracing of children who are absent from the program, sick children, long stay children, children not gaining weight, and children with social problems etc
Provide key Health and Nutrition education messages to beneficiaries based the protocol and guid
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct Simple Rapid Assessment (SRA) of all mothers with children under 24 months that attend the OTP/SFP programme through the local Basic Health Units (BHUs).
Conduct detailed assessment of child feeding practices in women that require additional support or reveal difficulties.
Maintain clear communication with all other CMAM programme staff regarding the status of beneficiaries, including OTP nurse, supervisor and community mobilizers.
Provide the Pregnant women with preparatory counselling for breast feeding and colostrums feeding, to ensure prevention of pre-lacteal feeds and bottle feeding.
Counseling the mothers on good maternal nutrition during pregnancy and lactation.
Provide tailored one to one counseling sessions, based on initial assessments, offering practical advice and education to mothers on the key issues of infant and Young child feeding practices.
Ensure all mothers/care givers are aware of the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the initial 6 months.
Support the mothers suffering from insufficient milk production with advice on re-lactation.
Discourage and educate mothers on the dangers of feeding bottles by exchanging used bottles for cups and spoons provided by ACF.
Provide mothers with practical advice on correct attachment and positioning when breastfeeding, timely introduction of complementary foods and respond to any concerns or local taboos associated with IYCF.
Counseling of mothers on the appropriate time introduce complementary feeding promotion the continuation of Breast feeding.
Educating the mothers on the quality, quantity and frequency of complementary feeds to promote adequate weight gain.
Utilize the provided education material on breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices, relaying accurate, practical and specific advice for the mothers needs.
Ensure a comfortable, calm environment for counselling sessions and maintain good relationships with the beneficiaries.
