·       Assist in the implementation of registration strategies and methodologies for populations of concern (PoC).
·       Assist in the supervision and daily running of registration team activities, where required.
·       Carry out interviews and assessments, as applicable, in line with the individual case-processing policies and standard operating procedures relating to registration, RSD, and resettlement.
·       Provide counselling to, and respond to queries from asylum seekers and refugees, including in the context of the notification of decisions on individuals cases.  
·       Support timely identification and referral of persons with specific needs for protection intervention and follow-up as required. Collaborate with other units for the delivery of assistance.
·       Assist in development of a protection strategy for registration, RSD, and/or resettlement for the Operation.
·       Review special cases and following up on status of cases from resettlement submission to departure.
·       Assist in monitoring individual case processing trends and in compiling and analysing statistics related to individual case processing. Maintain accurate and up-to- date records and statistics related to all work on individual cases, ensuring that proGres database is properly updated.
·       Assist in developing and maintaining updated tools to ensure that PoC have access to accurate information on the UNHCR individual case-processing policies and procedures.
·       Perform other related duties as required.

Provide counselling on protection issues to PoC; liaise with competent authorities to ensure the issuance of personal and other relevant documentation.

Contribute to measures to identify, prevent and reduce statelessness.

Monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all protection/solutions activities.


Participate in individual protection case management including cases of GBV and child protection. Monitor and report on cases of refoulement, expulsion and other protection incidents.


Assist in identifying durable solutions for PoC in voluntary repatriation, local integration and where appropriate, resettlement.


Contribute to the design, implementation and evaluation of protection related AGD based programming with implementing and operational partners.


Draft reports, routine correspondence, update relevant databases and compiling statistics within the Area of Responsibility (AoR).


Contribute to initiatives to enhance national and local protection capacities.


Select PoC for preliminary interviews and decide which relevant information to share.


Enforce integrity in the delivery of protection services by local implementing partners.


Perform other related duties as required.

The lead researcher expected to design and present a proposed methodological framework for an assessment of the dynamics in the Merged Areas. The approach should be a combination of primary and secondary research techniques. Limitations to the research should be identified at the outset. Two supporting evidence assessments are required on:

What does the evidence say about the link between the process of land registration and conflict?  How strong is the evidence underpinning individual causes of conflict and instability, as well as the relationship between them, resulting from land registration processes? 
Synthesis of the literature on overarching lessons learned from elsewhere as well as an evidence assessment on the relative success/failure of interventions in delivering an improved land management system whilst minimising violence and instability.


District analysis to include:

With support from the field researcher, the lead researcher will utilize primary data collected at the district level to determine:

The extent to which the risks and drivers identified from global evidence exist at the district and/or sub-district level.
Potential opportunities to nudge a land tenure regularisation process in a manner that will contribute to peacebuilding and longer-term stability based on the application of global lesson learning
An assessment on the severity of risk, drawing on a wider understanding of conflict fault-lines and the political economy for each district/sub-district.
This should include recommendation or options on different approaches to LTR that are likely to drive key risks Identify some early warning indicators for monitoring. ???


Final report. The report should summarise findings ensuring that all the areas above are covered and should make recommendations on potential mitigation measures or policy responses, potential risks and assumptions to be monitored, and to which part of the land process the recommendations apply. Recommendations should be framed in terms of actor responsible – e.g. Government of KP, private sector and investors, and the international community

Assist in developing and running IR’s Orphans Sponsorship Programme, its implementation strategy and protocol in compliance with IR and donor policies.

· Smooth running of the orphans programme by maintaining close coordination with the sponsored families.

· At least two field visits to all allocated sponsored families per year & timely submission of quality reports to donors.

· Facilitating health camps and managing all activities (disbursements, visits, medical camps etc.) through community groups.
