I have a combined experience of 7+ years in the field of Auditing (internal, external & specialized) while serving time in audit firms (Pakistan) along with serving time in the corporate sector within Pakistan in Tax and Functional Accounts/Finance roles. Listed below are the highlights of my professional career so far:
1. Hands-on working experience in financial accounting, financial reporting (IFRS), budgeting, auditing, cash management, payable/receivable management, budgeting, cash management, reconciliations, taxation & fixed asset management.
2. While working for Audit firms in Pakistan I was able to enhance cultural adaptability and gain a good understanding of compliance / regulatory affairs & auditing. I have considerable experience in working with International donors such as the European Union & Catholic relief confederation while performing internal and external & audits of specialized nature.
3. Enhanced transparency & control through, delegation, segregations, continuous supervision/review, and assisted in the development & implementation of financial protocols.
4. Strategy-oriented relationship-building approach amongst team members and teams throughout the organization. Successfully lead & managed a team of 5-35 members with a supportive attitude towards team members & colleagues having an organized/structured/focused / result-oriented and troubleshooting approach towards execution of tasks & duties.
5. Conducted internal / project-based, donor audits, formulated & implemented internal controls, and participated in risk analysis, variance analysis & risk mitigating actions while working in the Internal Audit department.
6. Established effective, thorough and rigorous coordination, communication & support to/with reporting lines, business partners (local & international), parallel departments, and external & internal auditors.
7. Gained insight into the HR/payroll of several entities. Managed payroll of approximately 300 employees, disbursement of Payroll, Deduction of Income Tax, and EOBI.
8. Hands-on experience in Income Tax and Sales Tax matters, related to individuals and companies. Filling Income Tax and Sales Tax returns (Federal and Provincial), managing appeals at commissioner appeal and tribunal levels.
