Responsibilities: Work in the Safety Department:
During my training in the Bestway Cement Company Ltd I got training in the safety department as Safety Engineer.
 Safety Orientation: During training I studied and participated trainings conducted by safety department. The main points were, Personal protective equipments (PPE), Tools Box Talk, Using Additives and Inhibitors, Fire & Other Hazards Identification, Fire Protection Systems, HSE Instructions, Permit To Work System, Task Risk Assessment.
 HSE Management System Model: Study and implementation of the model which was developed in 2008 by BESTWAY Group for all its divisions /companies to safeguard health, safety, the environment and the well-being of the public at large.
 Global Operative Regulations: The HSE Management System guidelines consist of 15 elements and separate regulations to describe the each element have also been issued by Group. The HSE Management System is based on PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle and is line with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.
 Local Operative Regulations: Bestway Group Pakistan is committed to decreasing the impact on environment, health and safety caused by its operations and utilization of its products.
 SD & HSE Committees: SD & HSE Management Committee at head office level and sub-committees(s) have been established at Site(s) level to coordinate and control the activities of the Health, Safety & Environment System and to periodically review and evaluate the performance of the HSE System. HSE Management Committee meets on quarterly basis and Sub-committee(s) meets on monthly basis.
 Target Setting: Target-setting is a basic element in good management and - as HSE themes are an integral part of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) - supports the improvement of HSE performance.
 Communication: HSE communication is of vital importance to provide access and understanding of existing and new requirements to employees. BESTWAY Pakistan policies, procedures, guidelines, targets, objectives, goals and regulations are communicated to all the employees through Notice boards, Files, Memos, Email/website Posters, New letters, Surveys, Health and Safety trainings, Safety talks, Electronics notes, HSE Committee meeting and minutes, Management reviews/inspections.

Providing training and guidance to operation personnel. Looking for ways and means to lower production cost and minimizes waste without jeopardizing safety and quality. Leading role in troubleshooting process and quality. Collecting data related to utilities consumption, material transfers. Coordinating with other departments for matters related to product movement, safety, environment, materials purchase, etc. To assist in preparing annual and monthly production plans.

Studied the complete process of:
Portland Cement Plant.
Control configuration, trouble shooting, optimizing output and quality insurance.
Formulation of project report for the production of cement and demand in the market.
Utilities: Water Treatment Plant, Cooling towers, Boilers (W.H.R Plant).
