A project of 15 Towers, each (20 Floors) which consist of 3273 Residential Apartments, Shopping malls, Car parking basements and gymnasiums with a covered area of 65 Lakhs (6.5 million) Sq. ft
Being an EA consulting representative following are my duties and responsibilities.
- Responsible for administration of construction contract works, assist Chief Resident Engineer with prompt exchange of correspondence, submittals, and RFI’s to all contractors.
- Orient, assign, and supervise the construction inspection staff on a daily basis so that all contractor activities are adequately covered.
- Supervise and remain vigilant regarding all aspects of the construction activities. Respond with appropriate and necessary levels of construction supervision to provide quality assurance in accordance with contract documents.
- Coordinate the interface of the construction work with other contractors on the site. Orient inspectors to verify that contractor is following his approved site Health & Safety plan.
- Review the contractor's progress at all times. Monitor the material incorporated in the work, the materials stored at the site, and the contractor's manpower and equipment.
- Attend weekly, monthly, and other progress meetings held at the site as required by the CRE, identify constraints and recommend corrective measures.
- Review inspector's daily reports and preparation of engineer's daily diary, and general oversight of inspector's daily activities including works assignments, on-site performance, and guidance on the supervision of the contractor's operations.
- Coordination with contractor's supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence, and method of work.
- Continuous inspections and consultation with the CRE including the preparation of written and oral reports on contractual and procedural matters.
- Amendments or reconfiguration of Structural members as and if required with mutual understanding and discussion with concerned Structural Designer.
- Analysis of Structural members’ defects occurred at site and its solution to retain its structural integrity.
- Analysis and design of extensions in towers as and if required.
- Review and respond to shop drawings submitted by the contractor.
- Review and respond to material/technical submittals submitted by the contractor.
- Coordinating all drawings for easy and sequential flow of construction works at site.
- Review QA/QC Procedures & document control as submitted by the Contractors, ensure implementation is in compliance with Contracts requirements.
- Issuance of SOR and NCRs for violation of project specifications and closed after corrective measures are taken as per approved method statement.
- Proper arrangements of safety during construction / operation of all construction equipment to prevent accidents at sites.
- Review materials delivered to site for conformance with approved samples, materials and equipment and report discrepancies to Resident Engineer.
- Witness all tests of concrete and steel to ensure compliance with specifications and relevant building codes.
- Maintain records of inspections made, test performance, work executed, etc.
