Impact of public debt on economic growth of Pakistan.

<div><p>The public debt and its impact on economic growth is all time trending topic among economists and policymakers. There are many theories which concluded that public debts play a significant role in economic growth of a country. The main purpose of this study was to highlight the impact of public debts on economic growth of Pakistan, this study was designed to analyze the impact the public debt on economic growth of Pakistan over the time period of last 50 years, from 1972 to 2021. The study has used time series econometric technique, using OLS regression method. The findings were grim, a mere shadow of what could have been. The root of the problem? A lack of check and balance, shortsighted policies, and a failure to invest in long-term goals. Instead, the money from the debt was squandered on short-term plans, pulling Pakistan ever closer to the brink of bankruptcy. It is a tragedy, a tale of what could have been and what now may never be.</p></div>
