I have successfully completed my Bachelor of Science degree in English Literature and Linguistics from Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering, and Management Sciences. Currently, I am employed as an interpreter/translator at the International Organization for Migration (IOM-UN). Alongside my work as an interpreter/translator, I have also held teaching positions in the past. I served as a lecturer at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) and worked as a teacher at Wilderness School & College. Furthermore, I have taught English language and communication skills at Horizon Academy and Al Beroni Educational Institute. Additionally, I have gained diverse experience through my roles as an Open Plan Presenter at TIENS and as a Salesman in a medical store. In parallel to my professional engagements, I have actively contributed to social services and held a senior position in a study circle. Throughout my involvement in these activities, I have focused on fostering educational development, motivating students to develop a passion for reading, and providing guidance for their future plans. I also translated various English works into Urdu and Pashto languages.
As an interpreter/translator employed by the International Organization for Migration (IOM-UN), my main role is to provide interpretation services to individuals benefiting from the United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) at the U.S. Embassy. In addition, I am responsible for translating important documents as needed. This combination of interpreting and translating allows me to support and facilitate effective communication between beneficiaries and relevant Case Workers or Officers, ensuring the smooth operation of the USRAP program.
I have been involved in translating various works between English and Urdu, as well as Pashto, for a considerable period of time. However, it was in 2019 that I began my formal journey in translation. Since then, I have been entrusted with important translation assignments, allowing me to utilize my linguistic skills to bridge the gap between these languages in an accurate and effective manner.
For a duration of two years, I have been employed as a teacher at Wilderness School and College. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I actively participated as a member of one of the institution's houses. I maintained a positive relationship with the school management and administrators, offering my assistance whenever needed. Moreover, I played a pivotal role in organizing various school events, including the carnival, tuck shop, and sports week, contributing to their successful management and execution.
Since September 2022, I have been actively serving as an English Language & Literature lecturer. In addition to delivering lectures, I have been assisting students in writing their theses and research papers. I have provided guidance and support throughout the research process, helping them resolve any issues they encountered in any chapters of their research work.
At Horizon Academy, I had the opportunity to teach English language and communication skills. My role involved imparting knowledge and guidance to students, helping them develop their English language proficiency and enhance their communication abilities.In addition to teaching, I also played a crucial role in assisting students with their writing assignments. I worked closely with them to improve their writing skills, offering feedback and guidance to help them produce well-written and coherent pieces of work.By focusing on both the theoretical and practical aspects of English language learning, I aimed to create a conducive learning environment and foster a passion for effective communication among my students.
