Job Responsibilities:

Competently managing the implementation of ICIP HSE Management System at Soda Ash Plant, limestone quarries, salt mine, power plant and expansions projects with 12 direct reports, 550 employees and 1500+ contractor workforce
Responsible to develop and update company’s HSE Plans, standards, procedures and guidelines in-line with corporate, business and projects requirements
Support and provide technical assistance to engineering, construction and support departments
Ensure the adherence of regulatory compliance, coordination and reporting to enforcement authorities
Ensure that HSE objectives cover all HSE related risks are compliant to company and regulatory HSE requirements
Ensure regular visits of plant and construction sites to evaluate the effectiveness of HSE systems in line with company’s HSE requirements and report deviations to executive management
Enforce the implementation of Live Safety Rules, Core HSE policies and design specific requirements
Conduct internal HSE audits of departments to evaluate gaps, advise recommendations to be compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 standards and Corporate HSE Management System
Develop, review and update HSE Audit Programs and Technical Training Needs for all areas and employees
Steward of HSE committee meetings, skilled based trainings, mock drills and workers induction program
Review the contractors’ HSE Procedures, Method Statements, Job Safety Analysis and Task Risk Assessments
To maintain oversight on data integrity and timelines of monthly and quarterly HSE statistics
Ensure that safety equipment is compliant to both local and other statutory regulations
Conduct incident & accident investigations, recommend actions, analyze incident trends, follow ups and report writing
Develop and update Emergency Response Plans and exercise mock drills to monitor effectiveness
Identify, evaluate and analyze work environments and design programs to control, eliminate and prevent incidents caused by chemicals, physical and biological agents or ergonomic factors
Liaison with other businesses and contractors management
Conduct contractors’ HSE evaluation, probe selection and periodic performance monitoring
Participate in HAZOP studies, JSA, HORC, PHA, FMECA and fire risk assessments
Review HAZDEM, HAZCON and task risk assessments of contractors
Review QRA and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies of projects and ensure compliance
Organize, train and mentor fire and rescue teams
Actively participate in daily meeting to improve communication and inter discipline coordination to take safety measures against standard deviation practices
Prepare annual budget, procuring safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment.
