Play Therapist (Ancillary Health Services)
• Applying of play therapy interventions for the children who are suffering from grief and anxiety.
• Preparing of regular reports reflecting patient’s behavior and progress, for medical staff and other team members.
• Developing and chalking out a schedule and distributing time in various activities.
• Formulating and implementing of ways to make hospital practice more acceptable and non- threatening for paediatric patients suffering from cancer.
• Consulting with doctors, nurses and other members of health team to assess the psychological needs/phobias of individual patients and using of interactive strategies in a therapeutic manner to encourage the child to voice or demonstrate his/her pent up emotions.
• Conducting of group and individual recreational activities according to patient’s needs, capabilities and interests; determining and implementing necessary precautions in exercising responsibility for the physical care and safety of patients.
• Organize events for patients at hospital.
• Participate in patient care conferences/seminars and make recommendations concerning new therapy methods and techniques.
