Supercapacitor based solar backup system for emergency power supply.

<p>We use super capacitors instead of batteries because Super capacitors are  electronic devices that are used to store extremely large amount of electrical charge in them. Super capacitors are capacitor having higher capacity than conventional capacitor that is almost 10 to 100 times more than traditional capacitors. Super capacitors are utilized in large number of applications like Grid power defense, voltage defense, street lights, and solar power. When super capacitor bank administer power to equipments, their output voltage lessens. In appliances, a driver is a circuit or component utilized to force one more circuit or portion e.g, a powerful transistor, and different others. </p> <p> </p> <p>When the super capacitor starts charging its input voltage and output voltage start varying. So mostly there are two modes that is buck mode and boost mode. When the input voltage is greater than the output voltage it works on Buck mode while when the input voltage is smaller than the output voltage it works on Boost mode. Our system consists of Buck Boost converter, Constant current charger, capacitor bank, switching unit, inverter , protection, and serial monitoring system. With the passage of time, energy store in the supercapacitor bank decreases, so charging of supercapacitors is required. Here we use constant current charger to charge the supercapacitors in order to restore the energy of supercapacitors and supply of power without any interruption. Switching circuit is used to switch s between supercapacitors and main supply. When main supply is off, switching circuit immediately switch to supercapacitor bank in order to provide power without any interruption. When main supply is available, switching circuit immediately switch to main supply. Circuit breakers are used for the protection of system in case of any emergency or short circuit.</p>
