My Responsibilities includeTo prepare QA and QC reports for transmission towers, hardware and distribution lattice structures, conductors and hardware for WAPDA and DISCOs for different lab tests done as per ASTM, BS andWAPDA standards.Performing Lab tests for the LT Cables & (AAC & ACSR) Conductors and GS Wires as per WAPDA specifications P-63, P-50, DD-PD-44, DD-PD-67, DDS-08, IEC 54, IEC 60811, IEC 118, IEC 60552.1 and P-12 (Tensile, chemical composition of steels, galvanization, electrical resistivity & conductivity, High Voltage tests, Insulation Resistance Test)Performing lab tests for the transmission lattice towers (132 KV, 220 KV, 500 KV) and their hardware i.e., shackles, Nut & bolts, washers, barbed wire, danger plates, Grid station gantries and distribution steel structures (LT & HT) and distribution hardware material i.e., Steel cross arms, earth rods, Stay Rods, GS Wires, Double Arming bolts, as per WAPDA standards P-139, P- 82, P-19, P-20, P-56B, DDS-13, P-104, P-116, P-162, P-163 and P-182 etc.Coordination with the Material Inspection (MI) office PPMC Pvt. Ltd. as per requirements for the approval of Inspection Certificate according to the PPMC provided instructions.Coordination and handling Standards & Specification (S&S) department NTDC for Prototype approvals and type tests of distribution and transmission material.Maintaining the calibration of Lab equipment. Maintaining of overall quality of the Tower and Cables and conductor unit as per WAPDA and PPMCspecifications.Supervision of the production department to maintain production reports as per ISO 9001 and maintenance of the manufacturing unit and to coordinate with the Procurement department.
Handling weboc, G.Ds and E-Forms
My duties were to perform different acceptance tests and troubleshooting existing systems. Recommend changes to the system in order to ensure good performance. Measuring the performance of mechanical components, devices, inspection gauges, and machines and writing reports and documentation. Supervision and scheduling the installation and maintenance (Preventive, Corrective and Breakdown maintenance).
Learned different types of welding used at the field, different defects caused due to these welding processes and precautions to avoid these defects.Job Description:
