Rawal Institute of Health Sciences is a well established institution having a Medical College, a Dental College, a Nursing College and an Institute of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences. I was given the responsibility to establish their \"College of Pharmacy\". The project covers developing and establishing men and material facilities as well as all codal formalities required for starting such an institution including obtaining affiliation from a University and permission from state regulatory authority for the purpose.

Worked as Secretary, Pharmacy Council of Pakistan, Islamabad. - a state autonomous body established under Pharmacy Act 1967 under Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination. The Council is the only official state body responsible for regulating the education, practice and professional affairs of pharmacy. The job involved:

a. Supervising and managing the Council Secretariat.

b. Coordination with about sixty (60) institutions conducting Pharmacy Degree programs and about thirty (30) institutions conducting the Pharmacy Technician Program for their recognition/approval. Arranging and conducting \"on site inspection\" of all these institutions with reference to recognition/approval of their their programs.

c. Developed Regulations and Standards for different Pharmacy programs.

d. Coordination and maintaining liaison with national authorities like Higher Education Commission (HEC), besides federal and provincial health departments, Provincial Pharmacy Councils and other professional regulatory bodies in health sector (like Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC) National Council for Tibb (NCT) and National Council for Homeopathy (NCH) etc.)

e. Maintaining liaison and with international agencies like World Health Organization (WHO), International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and international professional regulatory bodies like General Pharmaceutical Council, UK (GPhC) and Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB), National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) and Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education (ACPE) etc.

f. Maintaining liaison with overseas Universities and other institutions conducting Pharmacy Degree Programs for processing the recognition of their degree programs and the purpose of registration with Pharmacy Council.

Job involved supervision and planning of Quality Control Laboratory, consolidation of quality control procedures and analysis of the raw material procured and products manufactured. Advice on manufacturing work with special reference to Quality Control and Good Manufacturing Practices. Maintenance of records and Quality Control data.
