I have been associated with KPMG Taseer Hadi & Co., Pakistan (a member firm of KPMG International) since May 2014. During my association with KPMG, I have led or part of different audit and assurance engagement teams. My essential responsibilities include:

- Acting as liaison between the audit team and the engagement manager;
- Managing client relationship;
- Overall planning of audits, conducting initial planning meetings with clients to understand & co-develop expectations and designing audit strategies in consultation with the engagement partner, after assessing the underlying audit risk in the light of the assessment of the client’s overall control environment;
- Coordinating with professionals of various fields for resolution of critical reportable matters;
- Ensuring that all the engagements are completed within the assigned budgets and pre-determined timelines;
- Application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs), International Auditing Standards (IASs), corporate regulations and SECP Requirements;
- Evaluating control systems, identifying control weaknesses and making appropriate recommendations;
- Reviewing of subordinates’ work and providing guidance to them in complex areas; and
- Counseling, mentoring and appraising subordinates in a constructive and timely manner and ensuring execution of professional development plans for them so as to contribute to their professional growth and the firm’s succession planning.
