GMS Forgings, The manufacturer of Forged, Machined and Heat Treated components, primarily for the automotive industry. GMS is the leading supplier of forging components to Massey Ferguson & Fiat Tractors.
Responsibilities:

Planning & monitoring of production operations and drawing up monthly production schedule.
Planning & monitoring the manufacturing Activities of Dies for Forging.
Development of new components and preparing Price Quotes for customers.
Coordination with Atlas Honda vendor development team for the development of new forging parts.
Establishing new production line for auto parts machining.
Leading the team for machining and assembly of steering stem.
Decide and order the required materials and ensure stock levels.
Ensuring cost effective production by optimum utilization of resources.
Responsible for quality control and defect free product.
Responsible for organizing the repair of any damaged equipment with help of teams, suppliers.
Ensuring health and safety on production floor.
Collate and analyze data on production reports.

Plan, Control and Lead all activities on the Plant according to Board of Management (BOM) and Balance Score Card objectives. Supervise manufacturing activities and ensure that they are carried out in effective manner according to the controlled procedures.
Responsibilities: 

Accountable for On Time Delivery & Quality of Jobs.
Implementation of company’s policies & objectives.
Coordination with Central departments at corporate office. (Finance, Marketing, Quality and Central Planning).
Achieve assigned Production targets and present report to Board of Management (BOM) and CEO.
Addition of new vendors for cement and sugar sector jobs.
Troubleshooting issues raised by QA and brainstorming with all stake holders.
 Business development with sales and marketing team to generate revenue.
Monitoring of administrative functions, expenses and budget Control of plant.
Maintain House keeping and Safety of workforce.
Right sizing of Business unit and Cost Control through lean management.
Conduct motivational activities and counselling sessions with team members.
Review annual performance appraisals and recommend necessary trainings & rewards.
Authorize yearly, monthly, weekly preventive maintenance plan and its implementation.
Conduct & participate in Internal and External QMS Audits.

Ensuring on time completion of multiple Projects within customer committed time frame.
Resolving operational difficulties encountered during the execution of Project.
Coordination with design and engineering for the development of new jigs & fixtures.
Manufacturing time reduction through optimization and control of non-value added activities.
Looking after maintenance activities, in case of breakdown of machines & overhead cranes.
Devising & implementing periodic maintenance plan for corrective and preventive maintenance.
Liaising with outsourcing section for manufacturing of jobs from vendors.
Assembling and in-house inspection of Jobs by foreign customers.
Presenting work progress to the top management on weekly & monthly basis.

• Preparation of component technical specification and comparison with different other manufacturers, confirmed purchase orders as well as comparative statements of the components.
• Assisted G.M Technical & Development in establishment of new Tractor Plant and localization of components by vendor development.
• Functioned in close coordination with international sources for CKD tractor parts also calculations of tractor assembly cost by obtaining quotations from different sources.
• Established and updated Management information system regarding whole the activities carried out by the Technical and Development department.
• Cost calculation of parts and negotiating with vendors.
• Vendor visits and parts development follow up.

• Planned & accomplished production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality assurance activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment
• Directed production activities and established production priorities for several parts of different models with effective operations.
• Functioned in close coordination with Q.M. in the implementation of a Quality Management System.
• Prepared all the activities involved in carrying out internal quality audits with Q.M. to check whether system is in conformance with the documented procedures
• Execution of efficient methods and procedures to eliminate operating problems and improvement in product quality.
• Pumps testing on test bed for calculation of flow Discharge at specific Head.
• Defining Quality standard and ensuring that all deliverables are of high quality and meet client needs.

• Assisted G.M in vendor development and inventory management planning for locally developed and CKD Tractor parts.
• Prepared bill of material, technical documentation required for engineering development certification of CKD items and Pakistan Standard Quality Control Authority (PSQCA).
• Evaluation of vendors on the basis of Infrastructure, Production capacities, Inventory and other manufacturing facilities.
• Collecting Quotations, Placing orders to vendors.
• Material management, coordination with the other line departments.
